Owning a Home Part II

February 23, 2006

Back on January 8, I wrote a nice long entry about the things we’d accomplished and things we were going to do with the house. As most homeowner’s know, my list of things to do hasn’t shortened with time, it’s actually grown, even as we’ve accomplished various things.

We love this house. Even with the hiccups (another $200+ spent on our plumber), this place gets more and more fun.

My parents are coming to visit this weekend, so that virtually eliminates any work on the house this weekend. However, their coming did force us to clean the house better than it has been since we moved in (organize, organize, organize)… which was needed, especially since mom and dad will be bringing my trains, my Legos, my train art and furniture, and my antelope, among other things.

For a fun-filled read, here’s a list of more things we’re going to do soon:

1. Sand and paint bathroom
2. Install new lights (and buy them) in dining room, tv room, hallway, and kitchen
3. Landscape the backyard… that warrents a post in itself, which I may do next week
4. Insulate basement walls
5. Install trap-door into basement
6. And more and more…

You promise a backyard landscaping post, and still haven't delivered, a month and a half later. You tease.
